Exhibition Branding | Invitations | Wayfinding

2019 MICA MFA Exhibition Visual Identity System

Each year, the graduate programs at the Maryland Institute College of Art culminate in a series of vibrant exhibitions spanning multiple locations, mediums and formats.

To capture this diversity through the visual identity system, colorful outlines were made from gallery footprints. The resulting forms were layered and continuously remixed across more than 30 pieces.

Modular title walls made of fabricated shapes were rearranged in each exhibition space. Other deliverables included billboards, advertising, motion graphics, wayfinding, invitations and posters.

The visual identity system is made of layered blocks of colors, all mimicking the footprint of the exhibition’s galleries.

Moving throughout the layers is a green circle, representing a viewer moving through the spaces, a reference to common “you are here” icons on maps.
